Local News2 Dead in Mackinac Island Snowmobile WreckMon 2/8/10 6:58PM 2 women are dead after a snowmobile accident on Mackinac Island last night.
Island police say they fell from a steep hill.
The 2 women were sisters -- 59-year-old Karen Schwarck, from the island, and 57-year-old Edith Bonno of downstate Canton.
Schwarck's husband reported them missing shortly after 10 last night.
They'd been out riding on a trip around the island to take pictures, but they never came home.
Police, fire crews and EMS workers searched for hours.
They found the 2 women shortly after 2 this morning.
The women, and their sled, were at the bottom of a hill off of West Bluff Drive.
Both of them were dead before help arrived.
